Earlier in this year, my house was infested with honeybees. They found a hole in the siding and built their colony inside. They are protected globally so couldn't be removed for weeks. At first, this stressed me out with a dangerous hive growing in the house. You could hear the buzzing, it was scary. Eventually, we were able to safely remove the hive. They left behind tons of honey and wax. The honey was processed, bottled up and given to my staff to enjoy. I was inspired and became an assistant in a bee keeping project. They’re awesome. Every one of them seemed to have a very specific job that they did for the greater good. These creatures are a living representation of the concept of 'strength in numbers.' Even though they are tiny, they have the ability to take down massive animals if they are threatened. At some point, if they outgrew their home or needed to expand, the entire colony would just swarm and relocate. We actually lost one of our colonies due to this.
So, this animal is in alignment with the intentions I'm setting for the year. I intend to reorganize my community into a more efficient one and put people into the best roles that leverage their strengths in building our future. I am striving to share our ideas, spread our message, and grow our colony of like minded thinkers all over the world that are interested in setting a better standard for professional coaching. And finally, I believe it is time that we are ready to relocate our hive into a new home. While I'm not sure that our headquarter solution will happen in this year, the intention is to use this as an opportunity to make it a main focus of the group. On top of what this animal represents, my experience with the bees made me realize that you can turn seemingly bad situations into good ones. So, I am hoping to create continued success out of anything that comes my way. I intend to share my successes with my team in the same way that I did the honey.
As a result of all of this, I dedicate 2024 to be year of the honeybee.
